About

tunedmiking.net is about audio engineering.

tunedmiking.net is about placing microphones, possibly the most important tools of an audio engineer.

In these pages I introduce concepts and describe procedures to explain the nature of those phenomena manifesting when using two or more microphones and universally known as “phase issues”.

Information about physical characteristics of sound is provided here.

Information about the most common microphone transducing typologies is also provided here.

tunedmiking.net is the place where you’ll learn that aforementioned phenomena can be looked not as issues anymore but rather as very interesting occasions to modify and possibly improve the tonal content of audio recordings.

The blog is to be intended as a handbook for those who haven’t fully understood the matter so far. For all others hopefully it’s an opportunity for a useful reorganization of known facts.

The blog is definitive: after reading, phase issues will become a memory from the past!
